Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about AccelaStudy® AI Accounting — Disciplines, windows, the CMA, the simulations, the money, and the parts we deliberately leave to your state board.

The CPA Exam & Disciplines

Which Discipline should I choose?
The one closest to the work you actually want. BAR — Business Analysis and Reporting — if you are heading into financial reporting, analysis, or audit of complex entities. ISC if you want IT audit, controls, or advisory. TCP if you are going into tax. Chasing whichever one has a reputation for being easiest is how candidates end up sitting an exam full of material they have never touched.
Can I switch Disciplines?
Freely, as often as you like. All three are in the subscription, and what you have proven in the Core carries into whichever one you land on. If you are genuinely undecided, study two for a fortnight and let the readiness forecast tell you which you are actually stronger in.
Are you on the current AICPA blueprints?
Yes — content and weighting follow the current blueprints. When the AICPA revises them, the course follows.
How long do I have to pass all four sections?
Your state board sets the window, and boards have been changing it — many now use a 30-month rolling window rather than the older 18-month one. Check yours specifically; it is a board rule rather than a national one, and it is the single scheduling fact most worth being certain about.
Do you handle applications, NASBA, or scheduling?
No. Eligibility, applications, Notices to Schedule and test-centre booking run through your state board, NASBA, and Prometric. We prepare you for the exam; those bodies decide when and whether you sit it.
What about the 150-credit requirement?
Education and experience requirements for licensure are set by your state board, and several states have added alternative pathways in recent years. Sitting for the exam and being licensed are two different thresholds with two different rule sets — your board publishes both, and both are worth reading before you plan anything around them.

The CMA

Is the CMA really included?
Yes. Parts 1 and 2, including essay-scenario practice, inside the same $199/mo subscription. There is no CMA add-on, no bundle price, and no upgrade.
Can I do only the CMA?
Of course. Plenty of management accountants, controllers and analysts have no interest in public practice. Nothing obliges you to open the CPA sections.
Am I eligible for the CMA?
The Institute of Management Accountants decides that and publishes the current requirements at imanet.org — membership, education, and professional experience, with a window in which the experience can be completed. Read it before you register rather than after.
How much of my CPA study counts toward the CMA?
More than most people expect. Cost behaviour, variance analysis, financial statement analysis and ethics overlap substantially, and the engine tracks the overlap concept by concept rather than by assumption — so you spend your time on what is genuinely new.
Which should I do first?
Whichever fits your situation. Some candidates take the CMA first because two parts is a shorter commitment than four sections; some pick it up after licensure. The subscription does not have an opinion, and Autopilot plans around the dates you actually book.

Simulations & Study

How many task-based simulations are there?
The question does not apply in the usual way. Simulations are generated per topic and aimed at your weak areas rather than drawn from a fixed set, so there is no inventory figure and no point at which you have done them all.
What does “computation-verified” mean?
Every simulation’s solution is worked out numerically and checked before the simulation is shown to you. It is a guarantee about the answer key, not about your answer — you can still be wrong, and the feedback will tell you precisely where you diverged.
Is there a proper journal-entry workspace?
Yes: account picker, debit and credit columns, running balance check, and per-line feedback. Balancing is necessary and not sufficient — an entry can balance perfectly and still put an amount in the wrong account, which is exactly what per-line checking catches.
Do I get full-length section simulations?
Yes — four-hour section simulations matching the real exam’s structure, timing and scoring weights. Stamina is part of what is being tested and should not be new to you on the day.
How many hours a day does this expect?
Whatever you tell Autopilot you have. It plans around your real minutes and re-cuts the plan when a week disappears — which, if you are studying through busy season, is most weeks.
When should I start?
For a first section, roughly three to four months before the date you intend to book, adjusted for the hours you can actually give it. If you are not there yet, start on the free Accounting Fundamentals course — it costs nothing and it makes the first paid month considerably more productive.
Do you publish pass rates?
No. The product has not launched, so any pass-rate figure would be invented. We would rather show you the readiness forecast — which is about you rather than about a cohort.

Pricing & Billing

What does it cost?
$199/mo month to month, or $159/mo on annual billing ($1,908 a year, saving $480). That single subscription covers all three CPA Core sections, all three Disciplines, and CMA Parts 1 and 2.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, in one click. Paid access runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, then stops. Pausing between sections is a normal way to use this.
Is there a free trial?
A 7-day free trial, per product — sign up through AccelaStudy AI Accounting and you trial AccelaStudy AI Accounting. One trial per product, per account.
What is free without any subscription?
The complete Accounting Fundamentals course — debits through to financial statements — permanently, with no credit card. Free courses run the full adaptive engine; what a free account limits is which courses you can enrol in, never what happens inside them.
What if I stop and come back later?
Resubscribe at the price published at that time. Your profile, proficiency and history are preserved, so you resume rather than restart.
Does this include other AccelaStudy AI products?
No. Each product in the family is an independent subscription — no bundles, no stacking. See the whole family at accelastudy.ai or on the Other Products page.
When can I subscribe?
At launch in October 2026. Nothing is charged before then, and the plan buttons on the pricing page are deliberately inert until it opens.

Access, Privacy & Accessibility

What do I need to run it?
A modern browser. Simulation and journal-entry work is designed for a laptop-sized screen, because a four-hour section is not something anyone should sit on a phone.
Is my work private?
Yes. Zero tracking cookies, zero third-party analytics, zero tracking pixels, and fonts served from our own servers rather than a third-party CDN. Your work and your proficiency data are yours.
Is it accessible?
The platform meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA: full keyboard navigation, screen reader support, a high-contrast theme beyond dark mode, reduced-motion support, and text that scales to 200% without breaking. Details on the accessibility page.
Dark mode?
On every platform, including this website. Most of this studying happens after work.
Is BAR here the same as the bar exam?
No, and the collision catches people out. BAR is the Business Analysis and Reporting Discipline of the CPA Exam. The bar exam is a different profession entirely — that product is AccelaStudy AI Bar.
Who makes this?
Renkara Media Group, Inc. — independent and bootstrapped since 2008, with 48 patent filings and 1137 claims covering the adaptive engine. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the AICPA, the IMA, NASBA, or any state board of accountancy.
